Modern Siberian dog ancestry was shaped by several thousand

ViestiKirjoittaja Kristiina » 21 Syys 2021 18:43

Nenetsiasta on nyt julkaistu koirien muinaisDNA-tutkimus, jonka otsikko on "Modern Siberian dog ancestry was shaped by several thousand years of Eurasian-wide trade and human dispersal" (https://www.pnas.org/content/118/39/e2100338118)

"This is clearly the case in the Iamal-Nenets region (Northwestern Siberia) where dogs from the Iron Age period (∼2,000 y ago) possess substantially less ancestry related to European and Steppe dogs than dogs from the medieval period (∼1,000 y ago). Combined with findings of nonlocal materials recovered from these archaeological sites, including glass beads and metal items, these results indicate that Northwest Siberian communities were connected to a larger trade network through which they acquired genetically distinctive dogs from other regions. These exchanges were part of a series of major societal changes, including the rise of large-scale reindeer pastoralism ∼800 y ago."

> In contrast to the human genomic evidence, linguistic and ethnographic data suggest more dynamic processes. Specifically, these data suggest that Samoyedic-speaking peoples of Northwest Siberia migrated from southern Siberia, or neighboring regions of southeast Europe, to the Arctic as recently as ∼3,000 to 4,000 y ago (9⇓⇓–12).

> KULAI CULTURE. It was formed in the Middle (Taiga) Ob region at the end of the 6th century. BC NS. in 2 stages - Vasyugan (VI-II century BC) and Sarov (I century BC - V century AD).
>
> For the first time, the culture was designated by I.M. Myagkov. In 1953 V.N. Chernetsov. A special role in the study of the Kulay culture belongs to L.A. Chindina... More than 100 settlements are known and studied (for example, the Malget complex, Sarov settlement), more than 10 burial grounds (Kamenny Cape, Ust-Kondinsk), a cult place (Kulayskoye). The settlements were located on the banks of water bodies, the settlements - on high, naturally protected places, had a complex defensive system. Semi-terrestrial dwellings, frame and log house types, with fireplaces in the center. The hearths are multifunctional, they served, in particular, for the production of bronze. The dead, wrapped in birch bark, were buried in earthen graves stretched out on their backs in burial structures made of wood. The burial was accompanied by sacrifices of animals and things, cleansing fires. At the Sarov stage, the cremation of the dead. The Kulay culture is characterized by a kind of ceramics with imprints of a figured stamp, special categories of weapons, tools. A feature of the Kulay culture is the cultural bronze metal-plastic: flat, less often volumetric, openwork and solid images of humans, animals and mythical creatures. At the Vasyugan stage, weapons and tools were made mainly of bronze and bone, at the Sarov stage - from iron, since that time metallurgical production has been concentrated in special centers. The openwork cult of casting is being replaced by a solid one with a high relief. Its main characters are a bird of prey with spread wings and a mask on its chest, a warrior-hero on a horse, a bear. The farm is complex, diversified, with the dominant role of hunting and fishing. Horse and reindeer husbandry is well developed. The role of the individual family-patriarchal community is growing. Privileged strata appear in society - heads of communities, warriors, blacksmiths and shamans. The carriers of the Kulay culture actively migrated south to Sayano-Altai, to the north - to the Lower Ob region, to the west - to the Irtysh region. The carriers of the Kulay culture are associated with the Samoyedians (L.A. Chindina and others), Ugrians V.I. Molodin and others), Kets (R.A.Uraev).

Yllä viitattu Chindinan kirja on PDF:nä täällä: https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/287487183.pdf.

> The original area of distribution of the Kulai culture approximately coincides with the territory of the Tomsk region, with the exception of the southern regions. At the turn of the millennium, probably due to some cooling, some of the tribes moved a little further south, occupying the southern regions of the Tomsk region.
>
> In the middle of the 1st millennium A.D. NS. many tribes began to leave their ancestral lands, migrating in the directions of the present Salekhard (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), Tara (Omsk Region), Barnaul (Altai Territory), Achinsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory).
