The particular type of battle axe, the Karlova-type, was named after this burial and is thought to have been developed locally in western Estonia although having influences from the Finnish CWC (58). The second item in the grave was a Pyheensilta or Nylev type arrowhead made from phyllite. These are distributed in Finland, Norway, the Kola Peninsula and as single finds in the Baltic countries and date to the Late Neolithic, and are also associated with the CCC [see (16,58) and references therein].
